Ventnor (the Company) has been investigating rising demand in Asia-Pacific markets for silica sand, the primary ingredient in glass manufacturing; it is also a main component in concrete construction and used in production of tech metals.
Asian glass demand is increasing in construction applications, in the manufacture of energy-saving double glazing, while contributing to glass and plastic requirements within the expanding automobile industries in China and India.
Ventnor has identified silica sand projects at Arrowsmith, located 270- kms north of Perth WA, and at Muchea, 50kms north of Perth WA, with potential for substantial resources with an advantageous export logistics solution, as they are both adjacent to rail lines connecting to ports.
The high-quality silica sand that Ventnor has identified at both Arrowsmith and Muchea is used in a range of glass-making applications.
Demand is also increasing for high purity silica sand, as used in the production of photovoltaic panels, and as a silicon-metal composite material for high-capacity lithium-ion (Li-ion or LIB) rechargeable batteries.
The market for silica sand in the Asia/Pacific region is forecast to advance 6.1% per year to 138 million metric tons in 2018.
Ventnor’s Muchea Silica Sand Project comprises two tenements covering an area of 93kms² situated 50kms north of Perth, is strategically located adjacent to both the Brand Highway and a rail connection to Kwinana Port for bulk shipping.
Arrowsmith Silica Sand Project is located 270kms north of Perth, and comprises five tenements covering a total area of approximately 377kms². It is also situated adjacent to the Brand Highway and the rail connection to Geraldton Port, also suitable for bulk shipping.
The Company also holds tenements at the Biranup Project with a combined contiguous holding of 340 kms2 located north of AngloGold Ashanti and Independence Group’s Tropicana Gold Mine in the Albany-Fraser Belt. Ventnor has identified encouraging gold and copper-nickel prospects at Black Dragon, Fire Dragon, Silver Dragon and Red Dragon.
Ventnor holds two granted Exploration Licences at Warrawanda which is prospective for nickel.
The Ventnor Board possesses a wide range of technical and corporate skills and the appropriate management and technical experienceto manage the planned exploration programs at Arrowsmith and Muchea and to take them through to production and export sales.
